Rama Logistics Solutions

We recommend transit insurance for Full Load, Partial Load, and Packers & Movers shipments—especially for fragile or high-value items. Below are the most common questions we receive.

We arrange Transit Insurance covering physical loss or damage during transportation by road (and if opted, by rail/air). Depending on your shipment, you may choose:

  • Basic Transit Cover – protection for common transit risks (accident, fire, overturning).
  • All-Risk Cover (subject to terms) – broader protection including theft/pilferage where available.

Insurance is optional but strongly recommended for high-value, delicate, or long-distance consignments. Some clients and corporates mandate cover as part of their compliance.

Premium is typically based on the declared value of goods, coverage type, distance, risk profile, and add-ons (e.g., storage or multi-modal). We’ll share a quote before booking.

  • Invoice/Declared Value of goods
  • Packing list (for household/office moves)
  • Pickup & Delivery details (addresses, contact)
  • Any photos/serial numbers for high-value items

Typical exclusions include pre-existing damage, insufficient packing, inherent vice (perishable decay), normal wear/tear, and certain categories like cash, jewelry, or hazardous goods unless specifically endorsed. Exact terms depend on the insurer/policy.

Notify us immediately on delivery (or discovery of loss) with photos/videos and a brief description. We’ll help you lodge the claim with the insurer and provide the necessary documents.

Assessment and settlement timeframes vary by insurer and case complexity. Faster submission of evidence usually results in quicker resolutions.

Yes, but the insurer may require adequate packing and sometimes professional packing for fragile goods. Self-packed boxes are insurable; claims may be subject to stricter scrutiny if packing is inadequate.

Policies are issued by a licensed insurance company. The policyholder is usually the consignor (you/your company). On request, we can facilitate issuance and share the certificate/policy copy.

Use the true replacement value or invoice value of the goods. Under-declaration can lead to proportionate settlement; over-declaration may not be fully admissible.

Yes. We can arrange cover for intracity (within Jaipur), intercity, and pan-India routes for both commercial cargo and packers & movers shipments.

Many policies include a small excess/deductible (a fixed amount borne by the insured). We’ll disclose this in the quote so you can decide accordingly.

Yes—tell us in advance. Storage-in-transit and multi-modal covers can be included where offered by the insurer (subject to terms and premium adjustments).
Note: Coverage, premiums, and exclusions depend on the insurer and policy wording. This page provides general guidance and does not replace the actual policy terms.
